School of Computer Science and Information Engineering (SCIE) was originally the Information Management Department established in 1985. It was renamed as Computer and Information Engineering Department in 1996. In 2001, it was again renamed as School of Computer Science and Information Engineering and is currently one of the largest schools in student enrollment of Zhejiang Gongshang University. SCIE is also the first school which provides the Management Information System and Electronic Business programs in Zhejiang Province.
SCIE currently offers the following 5 undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Information Management and System, Electronic Business and Logistics Management. The programs including Computer Science and Technology, Information Management and Information Systems, and Electronic Business are Provincial key construction programs. Three master’s programs are Computer Application Technology, Computer Software and Theory, and Management Science and Engineering. One research area of Enterprise Management Informationalization and Decision Making System is available for Doctor’s degree.
SCIE has more than 100 faculties, including 14 full professors and 45 associate professors. 70 percent of faculties hold PhD degree or are pursuing their PhD degree currently. We have 4 faculties with National Experts title, 1 Zhejiang New Century Expert, 13 members of Zhejiang “151” Experts group, 8 Leading Young Researchers of Zhejiang Province and 1 Zhejiang Prestige Teacher. In recent years, SCIE is taking on 4 provincial high-quality course construction tasks. Several provincial or state education projects have been completed. Additionally, SCIE has continually won the first and second prize of teaching achievements of Zhejiang Province.
SCIE has 3 research institutes: Electronic Business and Information Engineering, Computer Technology and Software Engineering, Management Science and Technology. In the research areas, SCIE gets more than 20 grants each year, such as 973 projects, China NSF, National Technology Planning Projects, Zhejiang Key Technlology Projects, Zhejiang NSF. Moreover, high quality research papers published in journals and top conferences are highly increased. Meanwhile, SCIE actively provides technology services to the public. More than 10 awards are won for excellent research achievements awarded by the state or province. The research grants maintain more than 10 millions RMB each year.
