The Master’s in Chinese Politics, Foreign Policy, and International Relations (CPFP) at Tsinghua University is a two year program for international students taught in English.
About Tsinghua University
Tsinghua is one of the top Universities in China, located in the North West of Beijing in the University District (Haidian District). The campus is in between Peking University and Wudaokou which is the centre of the University District.
About Department of International Relations
Tsinghua University’s Department of International Relations was established in December 2007. Its predecessor, Institute of International Studies (IIS), was founded in 1997. For more than a decade, IIS has witnessed a growing number of staff members and students and itself becoming increasingly influential both domestically and internationally. In 2003, IIS launched its Master and Ph.D programs in International Relations, and jointly with two other departments, a BA program in social sciences. In 2010, the Department launched an MA program in English.
The department places emphasis on both academic performance and career development, committed to training students with a high level of professional quality, ethics and research capability.
Department of international relations has established working relations with many foreign universities, institutes and agencies. Visiting professors include government ministers, deputies and renowned academics.

Applicant should have a Bachelor degree or equivalent academic background, and is fluent in English.

Group Excursions
The Department of International Relations offers unique chances for its students to travel and explore the rich history and culture of China. Students are encouraged to take all opportunities to visit other parts of China in order to enrich their knowledge of both China’s traditional and modern life. Various group excursions are organized by both faculty members of the department and independently by the students.
Other Activities
Year after year students in the International Relations Program have developed close, long lasting relationships through participation in numerous activities, including sports competitions, celebrations and get-togethers. These close relationships often extend beyond the IR community, creating an atmosphere which inspires teamwork, leadership, dedication, creativity, and harmony.
Scholarship
International students of Tsinghua University may apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing Government Scholarship, or Tsinghua University Scholarship.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees are RMB30000 per year. The total for the 2 year program is 60,000 RMB.
Accommodation at Tsinghua University
Located in the north of Tsinghua University, Zijing Apartments (紫荆公寓) is the most modernised student dormitory in China and the largest, able to accommodate 22,400 students. Zijing comprises 26 blocks, with 23 buildings ranging from 7 to 15 stories. The total construction area amounts to 350,000 m2 (3,800,000 sq ft). The cost for the apartments are below. New students should apply at the reception desk of Zijin Building 19.
