Summer Program in Chinese Law

Introduction to the program

KoGuan Law School offers several summer programs, which give Chinese and foreign students an opportunity not only to learn Chinese or foreign legal systems but also to be exposed to Chinese or foreign cultures. The Summer Program in Chinese Law is an alternative for students unable to participate in our student exchange program or the LL.M. Program in Chinese Law. It has two sessions: one starts at the end of May and the other at the beginning of July. We also organize a number of Joint Summer Programs with our foreign partners and a Summer US Law Program for Chinese students to have a tour of several top US law schools including Yale and Harvard.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People’s Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. About the Program

All the summer program courses are conducted in English. Knowledge of Chinese language is not required. Classes are generally arranged from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Some afternoon classes may be added. Field visits and trips will be arranged in the afternoons and weekends. Students, who complete the program, will be issued an official certificate by Shanghai Jiao Tong University KoGuan Law School.

Entry Requirements

Law and non-law students and legal and non-legal professionals are all eligible for our summer programs. Applicants, whose native language is not English, should be certificated with English fluency. Foreign summer program participants will have opportunities to engaging with KoGuan Law students in and outside the classroom.

About the Application Process

To apply complete the application form and pay the application fee here. Applications take 4-6 weeks before a decision is given, and students are accepted on a rolling basis.
