About Shanghai Normal University



Founded in 1954, a key university in Shanghai, Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) is a comprehensive university with salient features of teacher training and particular strength in liberal arts.

One of the earliest universities to provide Chinese language programs to international students in Shanghai, SHNU started to accept international students in 1965. SHNU is one of the authorized universities to accept international students sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Scholarship, Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship and so on.




About ICCS



International College of Chinese Studies (ICCS) is the particular college to provide Chinese language programs to international students in SHNU. With the first-class teaching faculty, ICCS attracts nearly 2,000 international students from more than 40 countries all over the world every year.

Xuhui Campus

Class Time

8:00 am to 12:15 am in the morning and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the afternoon from Monday to Friday

Certificate

Certificate is granted if student completes required credit hours and passes exams.

Tours

ICCS organizes one field trip each semester. Trips to Beijing, Xi’an, Hainan, Xiamen, Zhangjiajie, Jiuzhaigou, Nanjing, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, etc. have been organized.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for Intensive Chinese Program is RMB 17,000 per semester

Accommodation

Typically, students from abroad are arranged to be accommodated in the Building of Academic Exchanges Center, Waibinlou Building (Foreign Guest House), Xi Liu (No. 6 Dorm on West Xuhui Campus), etc. Also, students are allowed to rent off campus at their own will, however, it usually costs less to live and study on campus.. For further information on the accommodation visit the accommodation page here.
