Indian Students In China

Data shows that there are around 20,000-25,000 Indian students in China, with 80-90% of them studying medicine (MBBS). China is a popular study destination for medical students due to lower fees and better infrastructure compared to western countries. Read more about MBBS programs in China here.

Chinese universities also offer English-taught medical education in some of their best universities. Their English medium medical institutions attract students from India since the Chinese authorities have ensured that these institutions have recognition from the Medical Council of India as well as international bodies in medicine.

The China Scholarship Council (CSC), a nonprofit organization under the Chinese Ministry of Education, offers a wealth of scholarships and this has attracted many students from India to study in China. Aside from taking medicine, Indian students usually enroll in engineering, computer, business, sciences and arts courses.
