For Universities
The International English Test (IET) is an online test to evaluate international students’ english level.
Why was IET test created?
Many students have difficulties in taking the IELTS or TOEFL test due to the COVID-19 restrictions during the pandemic. In order to help students and help universities to evaluate prospective students’ English level we founded the IET test.
The IET test is created by China Admissions and in partnership with leading English examiners with over 10 years experience assessing a students’ English level. To assess students we use the CEFR framework.
About the CEFR
In November 2001, a European Union Council Resolution recommended using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) to set up systems of validation of language ability. The six reference levels (see below) are becoming widely accepted as the European standard for grading an individual’s language proficiency.
IET Test Development
Phase 1 – Oral Interview
Phase 2 – Full IET test
The first phase of the IET test is the oral interview. It is performed with a 1 on 1 interview online with a fully trained English examiner with at least 10 years of English examining experience on Zoom.
The test is designed to assess whether the students oral English level is ‘classroom ready’.
In April 2021 we are launching the full International English test which includes reading, writing and listening sections.
