In our continuous effort to extend a warm welcome to our international students and enhance their overall experience, X-Global successfully mobilized a dedicated team of volunteers and staff members who wholeheartedly assisted them in acclimating to their new environment.

01 AIRPORT PICK-UP

Between August 20th and 28th, our team, accompanied by student volunteers, warmly greeted arriving students at both Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai. Additionally, XJTLU arranged two daily complimentary shuttle buses to conveniently transport students to their designated accommodations. Besides, the student volunteers also accompanied the new international students to purchase mobile SIM card to ensure they can be connected with their family quickly.

02 ACCOMMODATION CHECK-IN & HEALTH CHECK

Upon arrival in Suzhou, our team members, including our knowledgeable staff and enthusiastic volunteers, were readily available to address any concerns or issues encountered during the accommodation check-in process.

Meanwhile, our committed staff and volunteers woke up early each morning, eagerly awaiting students at their respective dormitories. They then escorted them to the designated health check centers, ensuring that all necessary examination procedures were completed promptly.

03 ON-SITE REGISTRATION

Once our international students had settled into their accommodations, our diligent team facilitated their on-site registration for four days during 22/23 and 28/29 August. On registration day, we provided step-by-step guidance, ensuring that students understand the tasks they should complete upon their arrivals. Especially, our staff provided valuable support by accompanying students to the relevant bureaus, where they submitted their residence permit application forms.

04 INDUCTION AND CAMPUS TOUR

On September 3rd, the highly engaging “International Student Global Information Session” was conducted by the X-Global Engagement Team. This session provided students with invaluable insights on how to seamlessly navigate their time at XJTLU and achieve optimal success. Key topics covered include essential academic dates, available services, support networks, resources provided by XJTLU, and effective strategies for adapting swiftly to their new environment.

X-Global Office also arranged two days for buddies showing the students to do a full campus tour on 7 and 8 September.

This year, we are thrilled to witness a continuous growing number of international students choosing XJTLU, which is a testament to the quality of education and accomplishments we offer. As evidenced by our data analysis, the “International Business with a Language”, “Business Administration”, “Marketing”, “Information and Computing Science” programmes had emerged as the sought-after choices among international students, with Indonesia contributing the largest number of enrolled students.This year, our 570 enrolled international students showcases aremarkable diversity with representation from 66 different countries across the globe.
