Understanding the Degree Systems at SBC
Single Bachelor Degree Program:
SBC offers a Single Bachelor Degree Program in collaboration with several prestigious UK universities. This program allows students to earn a British bachelor’s degree while studying at SBC in Shanghai. There are different pathways available depending on the duration and structure of study:
- 4+0 Pathway: Four years of study at SBC, including a Foundation Year.
- 3+0 Pathway: Three years of study at SBC, without a Foundation Year.
- 2+2 Pathway: Two years at SBC, including a Foundation Year, followed by two years at a UK partner university.
- 1+2 Pathway: One year at SBC, followed by two years at a UK partner university.
These pathways provide flexibility for students to choose the structure that best fits their academic background and career goals. The programs are designed to provide a strong foundation in the first year(s) at SBC, followed by specialized study in the chosen field.
Dual Degree Program:
Sino-British College, USST (SBC) offers a Dual Degree Program fully delivered in Shanghai. This unique opportunity allows students to earn both a British degree and a Chinese degree.
- Degree Options: After four years at Sino-British College, USST (SBC), graduate with:
- A British degree from the University of Huddersfield, Liverpool John Moores University, or Sheffield Hallam University
- A Chinese degree from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST)
- Chinese Language Requirement:
- Must achieve HSK 4 to receive the Chinese degree.
- Chinese lessons and language learning resources are provided to all students enrolled on a dual degree program.
- Students have up to 6 years to reach HSK 4.
- Graduation Flexibility:
- If students don’t achieve HSK 4, they can still graduate with the British degree.
