On October 30-31, a delegation from Russian School of Young Politicians 1306 visited Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) to enhance international cooperation and exchange between the two institutions.

Earlier this year, during a visit to Russia, Professor Chao Qiuling, Vice President of XJTLU, met with representatives from School of Young Politicians 1306. This follow-up visit was led by Ms. Bochkova Angelina Aleksandrovna, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Ms. Shariakova Natalia, Geography teacher, and nine students from the school. Following Professor Chao’s introduction of XJTLU in Russia, the students expressed strong interest in studying at XJTLU and immersing themselves in Chinese culture.

School of Young Politicians 1306 is Russia’s sole provider of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, offering IB courses to local students. The school’s curriculum aligns perfectly with XJTLU’s international student recruitment strategy. The purpose of this visit was to engage in campus tours, educational experiences, and discussions about the latest admission policies for upcoming undergraduate applications to XJTLU.

On October 30, the delegation received a warm welcome from Professor Chao Qiuling, who shared insights into XJTLU’s history, achievements in talent cultivation, academic reputation, and disciplinary development. Moving forward, School of Young Politicians 1306 will actively promote XJTLU’s degree and non-degree programmes (including short and summer courses) on its campus, becoming an integral part of XJTLU’s international strategic development and a valued global partner.

The visit began at XJTLU’s Taicang campus (XJTLU Entrepreneur College) and continued at the main campus in Suzhou Industrial Park, where the delegation explored the university’s unique blend of Eastern and Western educational philosophies. In addition to engaging classroom experiences, the students toured various schools within XJTLU, gaining insights into the university’s rich academic resources and cultural heritage. They were impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities and engaged in discussions about various fields of study and research directions, clarifying their future application plans to XJTLU.

On October 31, with the accompany and introduction of XJTLU, the School of Young Politicians 1306 visited Suzhou Dulwich International School for discussions and meetings. The primary purpose of this visit was to facilitate educational exchanges between two international schools within the IB curriculum framework, sharing experiences in school management and curriculum development. School of Young Politicians 1306 expressed heartfelt gratitude for XJTLU’s arrangements.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, a model of Sino-British cooperation, has consistently promoted international educational exchanges. This visit by Russian students not only enriched the campus’s international atmosphere but also provided students with new academic and cultural experiences.
