In March 2020, China temporarily suspended the entry of foreign nationals due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Meanwhile, internationals with necessary travels (e.g. trade, scientific, humanitarian) to China were still allowed to apply for visas.
Amid the global pandemic, certain countries have prudently controlled the spread of the virus. As of Monday, 10th August, China through the Chinese Embassy announced that some foreign nationals with valid residence permits are now allowed to apply for visas.
Valid resident permits include: work permit, permit for family reunion and personal matters. They can apply any Chinese embassy or consulate in their respective countries. The visa application is free.

Will a foreign national who arrives in China be quarantined?
After entering China, foreign are kindly requested to comply with the epidemic prevention regulations of the local governments.
Are international students included?
