ECNU and SWUFE
When you look at the letters, you probably have no idea what they stand for, unless you have studied there.
ECNU stands for East China Normal University (华东师范大学), founded in Shanghai in October 1951, it is one of the most prestigious universities in China and is sponsored by the national programs “Project 211” and “Project 985”.
At present, the University has 21 schools and colleges, and 5 advanced research institutes, with 58 departments offering 70 undergraduate programs in humanities, education, science, engineering, economics, management, philosophy, psychology, law, history and art. Besides that, the University also offers 26 doctoral programs of the State Primary Disciplines, 38 master’s programs of the State Primary Disciplines, one professional doctoral program, 17 professional master’s programs and 18 post-doctoral mobile research stations.
With two campuses located in Minhang and Putuo District, and with a total area of over 207 hectares, ECNU has long been reputed as a “Garden University” for its beautiful campus scenes.

SWUFE is short for Southwestern University of Finance and Economics(西南财经大学). SWUFE is located in Chengdu, the enginecity for development of western China and the fourth largest aviation hub in China, was originally founded as the Shanghai Guanghua University in 1925.
SWUFE ranks top 3 in Finance/Business-oriented universities in China, also is one of the Ministry of Education’s 100 key universities and listed in both “Project 211″ and “985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project”.
SWUFE has Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD programs taught in English in finance, economics, accounting, management etc.
