About the Program
The program consists of two streams of study, Computer Science (CS) and Internet of Things (IoT), to follow. Both streams enable students to develop both practical and theoretical skills in the areas of information and computer systems, with CS focusing on classical computational issues and IoT on the integrations of and interaction between computation and physical world. The students will gain proficient knowledge and expertise in understanding, designing, implementing and using computing systems.
Program Outcome
Graduates in Computer Science and Internet of Things are in high demand in a wide variety of roles, such as specialist programmer, systems analyst, IT administrator and consultant. Employers include IT companies, institutions, governments, and large corporations. They perform research and development in exciting areas, including software engineering, natural language processing, distributed networking systems, Internet of Things, information security, data and knowledge management, embedded systems, multimedia, and enhanced virtual reality.
Entry Requirements
· High school graduation or equivalent to a Chinese high school graduate;
· Good command of mathematics
· Efficient English language skills (TOEFL 85 or IELTS 5.5, exempt for English native speakers)
· Under age 30
Application Deadline
The application deadline is July 15, however applications can sometimes still be accepted up to one month later. Students are advised to apply earlier to ensure enough time to process the student visa.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees are RMB30600 per year. The total for the 4 year program is 122,400 RMB.
Curriculum
Main Courses: Essential courses. Discrete mathematics, Data structures and algorithms, Object-oriented programming computation theory and algorithms, Numerical analysis, Database principles and design, Principles of computer organization, Assembly language programming. Operating systems, Compiler principles and design, Fundamentals of software engineering, Computer architecture, Practice of operating system principles, Computer networks, Interface technique of microcomputer, Software engineering comprehensive practice .Practice of networking technology.
Scholarship
BIT offers Freshmen scholarship for the first year student, and Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship to the senior year student.
The scholarship has three rankings: First Prize (100% tuition waiver), Second Prize (50% tuition waiver) and Third Prize (25% tuition waiver). The evaluation is mainly based on the students academic transcript.
Accommodation
The accommodation fee is 1350RMB / Month, which is 45RMB/day/bed. Double Room with bathroom, TV set and air conditioner. Public kitchen on each floor.
