Princess Norodom Pongsoriya from Cambodia’s much revered royal family recently graduated at China’s University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing with a bachelor’s degree in international business and economics.
Hailed for her beauty and intellect, Princess Norodom received the most outstanding student award for international degree programs among the 2020 graduates.
Only a few of royal families in the world send their children to study in China. For this reason, Princess Norodom’s choice to study at UIBE is seen as an educational and political move to strengthen ties with China. Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, the 84-year old queen mother of Cambodia, has forged closed ties with China for many decades.
Born in 1997, Princess Norodom is the daughter of Moniren and Norodom Chakrapong. She’s one of the most low-profile royals in the world, which is why there’s barely information about her online.
Princess Norodom is not only well-loved in her country, she has also won the admiration of Chinese citizens. Congratulations to all the 2020 graduates at UIBE!
