The scale of growth in China is unprecedented in history. While China has the largest population of 1.4 billion people, it also has the largest property market.
Home ownership is strongly desirable in China and In fact, 90% of families in the country own their home, giving China one of the highest home ownership rates in the world. What’s more is that 80% of these homes are owned outright, without mortgages or any other loans.
In recent years property prices have risen by several multiples and has become a much larger part of the economy. In 2007 as much as 8.9% of GDP was on real estate construction.
For any student who has been living in China, you will be familiar with rapid construction and development. The constant buzz and sound of construction, the appearance of new buildings and skyscrapers seemingly appearing overnight.
You may think that this is an exaggeration, but below is a video which shows exactly that. A train station which took 9 hours to be constructed by 1500 Chinese workers.

About ICPM Program
The Master’s in Engineering in International Construction and Project Management (ICPM) at Tsinghua University is a 2 year program for international students taught in English.
The unique characteristic of this program is to expose students to a new way of thinking, and to create awareness of how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and delivery projects in the fast-changing world. The program is practice-oriented.
The program is open to all applicants, irrespective of professional discipline, who want to develop their expertise in international construction and /or project management.
