- Required Languages: Generally, you should have a Chinese level of HSK4 (if applying for a program in Mandarin) or an English proficiency language certificate (if applying for a program in English).

- Educational Background:
- Pre-college program: High school diploma and under 23 years old.
- Bachelor’s degree program: High school diploma and under 25 years old.
- Master’s degree program: Bachelor’s degree and under 35 years old.
- Doctoral degree program: Master’s degree and under 40 years old.

Types of Shanghai Government Scholarship
There are two types of SGS:
Type A (Full Scholarship)
- Exemption from full tuition fees.

- Monthly Living Expenses:
- Doctoral program: CNY 3500
- Graduate program: CNY 3000
- Undergraduate program: CNY 2500
